Career of Venkaiah Naidu
In 1978, he was elected as an MLA to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and got the post in the 1983 election. In 1998, he joined Rajya Sabha from Karnataka. He became the Union Cabinet Minister in 1999 general election. He held the office of Minister of Information and Broadcasting in 2016. He became the Vice-President of India on 11 August 2017.
