Her political career started in 2014 Lok Sabha election when she participated as a member of Nationalist Congress Party. Though she lost this time but won an MP seat in the 2019 election from Amravati constituency in Maharashtra as an independent candidate. She gained media attention on various occasions due to her dispute with Shiv Sena and its party members.
