He started his journey as a wrestler on Western Wrestling Alliance Live! program with his brother as G.I. Bro. He signed with World Championship Wrestling in the early 1990s. They won the WCW Tag Team Championship in the year 1994. He won the WCW World Television Championship by defeating Disco Inferno in an episode of Nitro in 1997. He again united with his brother to form the team Harlem Heat in mid-1999. They won the title of the WCW World Tag Team by defeating Bam Bam Bigelow and Kanyon.
