He played minor hockey while growing up. He joined NobleKing Knights, Rep A team and the Richmond Hill Stars of the OMHA. He played the Ontario Hockey League with Mississauga IceDogs in the year 2006. He signed with St. Louis Blues in 2008. He played for the Peoria Rivermen in the American Hockey League in 2009.
