About Mark Messier
Mark Messier is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and also the General manager and assistant of the New York Rangers. From 1979 to 2004 he played a quarter of NHL for 3 teams named Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, and New York Rangers. Professionally he also played for the Cincinnati Stingers and World Hockey Association (WHA)'s. In the list of playoff points, he was ranked at no. 2 with 295 points and regular season games played 1756. To his great contribution towards hockey by Governor General David Johnston, he was called as the Officer of the Order of Canada on June 30, 2017.

He goes to St. Francis Xavier High School in Edmonton where he played in the junior hockey. In his early life, his father was his mentor and coach.
Career of Mark Messier
While living at St. Albert he played for Tier II in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. He made 74 points and 194 penalty minutes in 53 games. Later he was signed by the Cincinnati Stingers as a free agent. The Rangers missed the playoffs in 1992?93 and for the first time, he did not play in the post-season. The worst mark of him was from 1997?98 since his first NHL season in which he made sixty points and in next two seasons due to injury he made only 158 points in three years. He only played with Canada once which was played outside the North America ie. 1989 World Ice Hockey Championships in Sweden in which he won the silver medal.

In his career, he got numerous achievements and honor like for two years 1990 and 1992 he won the Hart Memorial Trophy and in both same years he also got the Lester B. Pearson Award, he won the Stanley Cup champion six times: one with Rangers and 5 with Oilers. During the playoffs, he received the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player. For 15 times he was the NHL All-Star. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2007.
