He started his journey as a professional ice-hockey player in the year 1969 and played against the Minnesota North Stars. He played for the Canadian team in the Summit Series. He was appointed as captain of the Flyers in 1972. He set the personal best record in the 1975-76 season. He became assistant coach in the 1978-79 season that's why he left captaincy according to NHL rules. He announced his retirement in 2017.
