Magic Johnson was a great basketball player and after taking retirement as a player he became the president of the basketball operations of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). For 13 season he played as the point guard for the Lakers. By the Lakers, he was selected as the first overall in the 1979 NBA draft. When he was diagnosed with a disease then he takes the retirement in 1991 but again for the 1992 All-Star Game he plays. In the third time, he was retired finally from the basketball game. After that, he starts doing the business and also opens the foundation on his own name.

He was born on August 14, 1959, in Lansing, Michigan. His father Earvin Sr was a General Motors assembly worker and his mother was a school custodian. From his childhood, he has the interest in basketball and his favorite player was Bill Russell. hiss father was also high school basketball player so he learns the fine points of the game from him. At the age of he got his nickname 'Magic' when he was playing for Everett High School and scored a triple-double of 36 points, 18 rebounds, and 16 assists.

In 1979 he was first overall drafted in the Los Angeles Lakers but he failed in that match and all believe in him to get the goal. Later with the averaged 18.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game for the season he got selected for the NBA All-Rookie Team and called by the NBA All-Star Game starter. In 1991 he got retires from the game for the first time but later join the 1992 All-Star Game, and win the game. The second time he takes retirement for 4 years and later plays 32 games for the Lakers and he was retired finally for the third time. After retirement, he starts his business and after diagnosing by a disease he opens the foundation.

He won many awards like nine NBA Finals appearances, twelve All-Star games, NBA MVP Awards and ten All-NBA First and Second Team nominations. Two times he was inducted into Basketball Hall of Fame. He also got the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award. He is also an Olympic gold medalist in 1992.
