She started participating in sports on behalf of her university on the encouragement of her coach. She finished with a silver medal at the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the 60 meters race in 2007. She completed the race in 11.2 seconds at the World Championships. She won the gold medal at the 2007 World Athletics Final. She performed well in the 2009 World Championships in Athletics. She took retirement in 2017 after an injury.
