Her first job was as a vocalist, on the WLW radio program Carlin's Carnival. She joined the band of Les Brown and her first hit recording was "Sentimental Journey". She also started acting and her film "I'll See You in My Dreams" was a commercially successful film. She won million hearts with her "The Doris Day Show". She played a starring role in the film "The Man Who Knew Too Much".
