He worked in many short films before getting a break in the film "Rabbit Hole". He starred along with Zac Efron and Michael B. Jordan in "That Awkward Moment". He had a starring role in 'Whiplash'. He played the character Peter Hayes in "Divergent".

Does Miles Teller takes alcohol? Yes. He was arrested in 2017 summer outside San Diego bar for being too drunk.

He moved to various places when he was a child due to his father's job as his father was a nuclear power plant engineer.

In honor of a late friend who died in a car crash a year after his own accident he wears a green bracelet that says "Buckle up for Bo". He can be seen wearing it in almost every movies excepting those where it does not suit the character.
For a scene in "Whiplash", he and J.K.Simmons rehearsed many times for a slap scene. But at the time of the shooting Simmon genuinely slapped him. The scene was included in the movie.
