About Kinarut Mansion
Kinarut Mansion was an old house that belonged to German W.F.C. Asimont. The house is now demolished and only ruins remain at the place. The house was constructed in 1910 for the residence of Asimont who was the first manager of Kinarut Rubber Estate. At the time, it was a beautiful piece of art made by an Indian architect. It had 45 doors and 152 windows and was featured with 42 huge chandeliers. It spread an area of over two acres. It found a place in the historical sites in Sabah in August 1994 and is one of the main tourist attractions.
Some Lesser Known Facts About Kinarut Mansion
- According to local lore, the mansion is haunted by "Hantu Tinggi" which is said to be a tall tree but is not a normal tree.

- Some people also claim that they have seen a wandering image and heard the voice of Pontianak from the mansion at night.
