About Chiayi Min Hsiung Haunted House
The Liu Family Mansion is an old house location in Minxiong, Chiayi in Taiwan. The house was made in 1959 by Liu Rongyu who was a businessman, having seven children. The house is abandoned since early 1950s after the end of Japanese colonial rule. It is a three-story mansion, can be easily arrived using a bicycle or a scooter. There are also sign boards to locate the mansion. Since the house is abandoned from years, it is full of trees and dust that’s make the location more spooky. There are no exact records as to why the house is abundant, and no traces of former occupants could be found inside the house.
Some Lesser Known Facts About Chiayi Min Hsiung Haunted House
- According to the locals, there was a maid in the house who fell in love with the family patriarch, or perhaps their affair had been discovered by the family. She committed suicide by jumping into the well inside the house. It is said that after the incident, the family suffered bad luck and unwillingly left the house.

- It is also said that one night, a group of Japanese soldier were stationed here. One of the soldiers saw a figure step out of the moonlit mist and they started firing. All of them died and it is predicted that they were shooting each other. The house is also said to be haunted by Japanese soldiers who died on that night.
