About Lance Armstrong
Lance Armstrong is a professional American road racing cyclist. He is also the 1993 professional world champion and for seven consecutive times from 1999 to 2005, he won the Tour de France. Due to long term doping offenses, he was banned from sanctioned Olympic sports for life. From 1989 and 1990 he was the champion of national sprint-course triathlon. With the Motorola team, he started his professional career. He founded the Lance Armstrong Foundation to help the other cancer survivors. Between 1998 and 2005 he was the member of the US Postal/Discovery. He also has so many doping allegations and he confessed in 2013 that some of the allegations about him were true.
Early Life of Lance Armstrong
He was born as Lance Edward Armstrong on September 18, 1971, at Methodist Hospital in Plano, Texas, north of Dallas. His parents are Linda Gayle who was a secretary and Eddie Charles Gunderson who was a route manager for The Dallas Morning News. He was named after the Lance Rentzel, a Dallas Cowboys. When he was two years old they get divorced and later his mother was remarried and he was adopted by her husband Terry Keith Armstrong who was a wholesale salesman.
Career of Lance Armstrong
At the City of Plano Swim Club, he started his career as a swimmer but after seeing the junior triathlon, his interest transferred from swimming to cycling. By signing a deal with Motorola Cycling Team in 1992 he became the professional. In 1994 he won the Thrift Drug Classic and also came second in the Tour DuPont in the United States. At the end of the 2005 Tour de France, he takes he retirement but again he comes back with the Astana team in January 2009. In 2011 he retired for the second time.
