Career of Milkha Singh
He was selected in Indian Army for special training in athletics. He represented the native country in the 200 meter and 400 meters race in the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games. Singh also won gold at the National Games of India in 1958 in 200 meters and 400 meters race. He also won gold in the 400 meters and 4 x 400m relay in the Asian Games held in Jakarta in 1962. He is best known for the 1960 Olympic Games where he ended at the fourth place but completed the 400 meters race in just 45.73 seconds.
