She is an American actress, born on 8th February in 1949, in New York City, New York, USA. She is well known for her role as Abby in the movie named "Days of heaven"(1978),. She got married to actor Tony Shalhoub, and they have two adopted children.She completed her schooling from the High School for the Performing Arts and the School of American Ballet.

She starting her career with the low-budget films like Shock Waves in the 1970s.She performed the role of Abby in Days of Heaven in 1978 and also in the same year as Elizabeth Driscoll in Invasion of the Body Snatchers.She worked in three films in 1979 with an uncredited role in The First Great Train Robbery, as Stacey Bishop in A Man, a Woman, and a Bank and in Cuba as Alexandra Lopez de Pulido.Her character was Jeannie in Tell Me a Riddle in 1980.
In 1983, her work was seen in Utilities and The Dead Zone as Marion Edwards and Sarah Bracknell.She performed in three films in 1985 which were Almost You as Erica Boyer, The Stuff as Special Guest Star in Stuff Commercial and Key Exchange as Lisa.She was Jane in Man on Fire which was released in 1987.In 1991, her pleasantry work was seen in The Unborn as Virginia Marshall.
