Mexican Film actor Pedro Armendariz who made films in both Mexico and the United States was born in Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico on May 9, 1912. He was an engineer from the California Polytechnic State University. He was married to Carmelita Bohr on 19 June 1938. He committed suicide on June 18, 1963, in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Career of Pedro Armendariz
After completing his studies, he started working as a tour guide and as a journalist for the bilingual magazine México Real. He appeared in many films like" Flor Silvestre, Bugambilia, María Candelaria (Xochimilco)" with Dolores del Rio and Emilio Fernández. In 1956, he worked in 2 films Diane and The Conqueror as King Francis I and Jamuga. He was Col. Mastegui in The Big Boodle in 1957. In 1959, he played El Tiburón and Cipriano Castro in Little Savage and The Wonderful Country. He was The Sultan in the movie Francis of Assisi which was released in 1961. He was El Kerim in Captain Sindbad and Ali Kerim Bey in From Russia with Love both released in 1963 and was his final roles.
