He started his career as a part of sketch comedy troupes including The Groundlings in Los Angeles. He did small roles on television and radio until he was cast to perform on Saturday Night Live. He performed on the Broadway theatre in the play "The Frogs" as Xanthias. He played a starring role in the miniseries "Bollywood Hero."
