He performed at Apollo Theater in the play called "The Wiz" to start his acting career. He appeared as Cedric Jackie Robinson on the sitcom "The Steve Harvey Show." Some of his earlier film credits are Johnson Family Vacation, Man of the House, Barbershop, and more. He played starring roles in the films Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins and Street Kings.
