American actor and founder of Bay Area theater companies Jack Aranson were born on 29 December 1924 in Los Angeles, California, United States. He married Mary Rose McMaster in 1955 and remained with her up to his death in Sleepy Hollow, New York, USA. on 3 January 2008. He had four children. He served as director of Shakespeare at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. His most remarkable role was in Moby Dick in which he plays 13 characters as it was a one-man show.

He had performed various roles of Shakespeare and other classic roles in Ireland at Dublin's famed Gate Theatre. He began his career in England and serve for two years as an apprentice at the Old Vic theatre. He toured Ireland every night for a different play and had many Shakespearean roles.
