Morgan House History, Travel Information, Facts And More

Morgan House is an old house that was built during the time of the British era. It is situated in the Kalimpong hill station of West Bengal. The house was constructed in the 1930s by an English jute baron, Mr. George Morgan. It was used as a lodge under the name Singamari Tourist Lodge or Durpin Tourist Lodge but now it is converted into a hotel which is managed by West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation. It has seven rooms, however, the surrounding area and the building cover an area of 16 acres. The house is 52 kilometers away from Darjeeling, while it is 75 kilometers from both Gangtok and Siliguri. Many famous people including Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru. Sunil Dutt, Om Prakash, and Utpal Dutt have spent time at the place.

The place is located in a beautiful location and is just a few kilometers away from popular hill stations like Darjeeling and Gangtok. Also, the place is close to tourist points like Teesta Triveni White Water Rafting and Lovers Meer View Point so you can take a taxi to the site from there.
