About Missenden Abbey
The Great Missenden Abbey was a former Augustinian monastery situated in Great Missenden village in Buckinghamshire, UK. It was founded in 1133 and dissolved in 1538. The foundation of the monastery was accredited to William de Missenden. It was altered many times. The present Regency Gothic style of the building was built at the beginning of the 19th century. It is currently owned by Bucks New University and often used for conferences, weddings, and other events.
