He began his career at a very small age of nine with Real Madrid and got promoted in 1999 for the senior team. He entered in the Spain national team in June 2000. He became the first-choice goalkeeper at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He is the third captain in the history of football who won World Cup trophy, the Champions League trophy and the European Championship trophy.
