- The whole life of the genius is inspiring and the most inspiring was the character of his mother. You will be amazed to know that he was expelled from the school and a letter was given to him to be handed to his mother. As he was unable to read at that time when his mother read the letter she told him that "You are a genius and your school is not that advanced to teach you." His mother homeschooled him his whole life and Edison got the letter years after the passing of his mother. When he read the letter he came to know that he was expelled from the school and was told that he could not be able to read and write. But his mother never wanted her son to be affected by negativity. And her trust won at last and the whole credit of his success goes to her.

- At the age of 12, he was suffered from scarlet fever. Also, he was regularly affected by a middle ear infection which was not properly treated at the time. As a result, he lost the ability to hear in one ear and could hardly hear with the other. But he never let his physical condition become his weakness in fact he said that hearing loss helped him to focus on his work and not be distracted from the noise. That's how he made his weakness his strength.
- His inventions were so vast and most of them are used by us even today. His devices like electrical power generators, sound recording, and devices used for mass communication became a part of our daily life and we can't think of living without these devices.
- He was a great inventor as well as a great entrepreneur. He also had his own printing press named The Grand Trunk Herald. You will be amazed to know that it was a small baggage car that was used for his chemical experiment as well as a printing press.

- He used to work as a telegraph operator which was a hectic job and he had to travel to different cities for this job. But he was so passionate about the inventions that he used to do experiments after his working hours.

- His first invention remained unused. It was the electric vote recorder but the idea was not liked by politicians of that time.

- An important fact about him is that the first industrial research laboratory was founded by him in 1876 in Menlo Park, California. It is the place that is a witness of his early inventions.

- The world's first film studio, Black Maria, was built in his laboratory in West Orange, New Jersey.

- A bronze statue of him was placed in the National Statue Hall collection at the United States Capitol in 2016 to pay tribute to him for his great works throughout his life. Many places like Thomas Edison State University, Lake Thomas A Edison in California and more also named after him.

- For recognition of his work, he was awarded a number of awards like the Technical Grammy Award, and medals such as the Matteucci Medal, Edward Longstreth Medal, Congressional Gold Medal, and more.
- He was from a poor background and used to sell newspapers, candy, and vegetables in his local areas as a child.
