Career of Dilma Rousseff
Her political career started after the mandatory two-party system ended. She was appointed as Municipal Secretary of Treasury Secretary in 1985. She was appointed as president of the FEE in 1990. She held the office of Secretary of Mines, Energy, and Communications until 2002 and was Minister of Mines and Energy from 2003 to 2005. She was appointed as the chief of staff of the Presidency from June 2005 to March 2010. She served as the president of Brazil from January 2011 to 31 August 2016.
