His musical career started when he joined the band "The Amboy Dukes." He recorded the songs like The Amboy Dukes, Journey to the Center of the Mind, Migration, and Rusty Day in the 1960s. He signed with DiscReet Records label in 1973. His sixth album ?Call of the Wild? was recorded then. He joined Epic Records in 1975. His albums Ted Nugent, Cat Scratch Fever, Free-for-All were released in the 1970s. In 1995, he released his album "Spirit of the Wild".
