Career of Coldplay

The band was formed in the year 1996. Their first EP "Safety" was released in 1998. Their first album "Parachutes" which was released in 2000 earned massive popularity with the song "Yellow." In 2002, the band released their second album "A Rush of Blood to the Head." Their other albums Everyday Life, A Head Full of Dreams, Ghost Stories, and Music of the Spheres were released from time to time.

Some Lesser Known Facts About Coldplay

At first, the band was named Pectoralz. When it was joined by Guy Berryman, it was renamed Starfish. The band got its current name after Phil Harvey and drummer/vocalist Will Champion became a part.
If you have seen the song "The Scientist" you would also know about the reverse video but it was not actually reverse video. It was sung by Chris Martin backward after a month of practice. (Wow!)
If you are a Coldplay fan then you must have heard the song "Shiver." Do you know the song was recorded in only one take? Next time you listen to the song then notice that Martin could be heard breathing and his voice cracked several times.
The members of the band are kindhearted and donate about 10 percent of their profits to charity.
One more fun fact about the band is that their first-ever song titled "Here's an ode, ah, to deodorant/It's my thing, ah/It's my favorite hygiene/It keeps me through the day" was performed about toiletry. They intended it just for a joke and were surprised when it became a hit.

The title of the song "Yellow" was inspired by The Yellow Pages as it was placed near Martin when he was thinking for the title.
