He became the leader of his family Qawwali Party after the death of his uncle and his first performance as a leader was in the Jashn-e-Baharan organized by Radio Pakistan in Islamabad. The singer is also credited of singing in a number of international events like World of Music, Art and Dance and the Asian Traditional Performing Art Festival. His albums Intoxicated Spirit and Night Song earned Grammy nomination.
