He was a drummer and also founding member of the bands like Total Environment and Sweet Willie Jam Band in the 1960s and 70s. He joined Blondie in 1975. He worked in other bands like the Romantics, Iggy Pop, and Joan Jett for the period when Blondie was disbanded. After re-grouping of the band, he joined again and worked as a drummer throughout the band's entire career.
