He started his career by being a part of the band "Treasure". He served as a staff songwriter for the television series "Happy Days" and "Joanie Loves Chachi". He joined the band Kiss and played the character Dan Hartman and was terminated from the band in 1984. He started his own band in mid-1984 and named it the Vinnie Vincent band.
