William Alland was a famous American writer and producer who was born on March 4, 1916, in Delmar, Delaware, United States and died on November 11, 1997. He has produced and wrote many science fiction movies like The Mole People, The Space Children, This Island Earth, The Deadly Mantis, and so on.

The role in the movie for which he was best known was 'Citizen Kane' (1941) as a reporter Jerry Thompson who in Orson Welles's investigates the life of newspaper tycoon Charles Foster Kane.
