The American actress was famous for her various roles such as bungling insecure Esmeralda in a sitcom Bewitched (1964-72), Cousin Alice in TV series Mayberry R.F.D., Bernice Clifton in a sitcom Designing Women (1986-93), etc. Ghostley began acting from theatre and first came to Broadway in a musical revue New Faces of 1952. She made her screen debut on television through a TV anthology named The Best of Broadway in 1955 and her movie debut as herself in the feature film New Faces in 1954. She has a number of theatre and screen roles to her credit such as The Graduate (1967), Blue Sunshine (1977), Not for Publication (1984), Viva Max (1969), Record City (1978) and much more.
