Stage
He started his career at the stage with Off-Broadway play in the 1960s. In 1977, he became a member of Riverside Shakespeare Company on New York City's Upper West Side. In his last years, he achieves his lifelong dream of working in Broadways and performed as the owner of a cigar factory in Anna in the Tropics.
Films
His first film role was a small part of Unholy Rollers in the 1970s. In 1972, he got the role in three films such as Dealing, Boxcar Bertha and in Unholy Rollers which are all small role. He was Mario and Augie the Horse in the films Mean Streets and The Don Is Dead in 1973. In The Terminal Man, he was an Orderly which was released in 1974. He performed as Melio in Taxi Driver in 1976. He worked in Hot Tomorrows and Which Way Is Up? as Tony and Angel.
In the 80s he performed in films Hanky Panky in 1982 as Pallbearer, Romando in 1982 as Don Piri, Falling in Love in 1984 as
Victor Rawlins, The Electric Chair in 1985 as Comic, Desperately Seeking Susan in 1985 as Sgt. Taskal, After Hours in 1985 as Diner Cashier, in 1986 as Leon in Off Beat and also as Dangerous Man and Pablo Cheruka in Raw Deal and Florida Straits , The Pick-up Artist in 1987 as Harris, The Last Temptation of Christ in 1988 as Peter, Apostle, Her Alibi in 1989 as Avram, New York Stories in 1989 as a Cop, Crimes and Misdemeanors in 1989 as Detective.
In the 90s his work is seen in the films King of New York in 1990 as Roy Bishop, Quick Change in 1990 as Skelton, McBain in 1991 as El Presidente, Shadows and Fog in 1991 as Vigilante, Bad Lieutenant in 1992 as Beat Cop, he had work in three films in 1993 as Lenny inTrue Romance, as a Director of Photography in Dangerous Game, as Lino Falconetti in Household Saints, in 1994 Men Lie, Monkey Trouble, Somebody to Love as Scott's Dad, Charlie and Santa Claus respectively. In 1995, he had performed two films with the same character name which were Smoke and Blue in the Face. He was Victor Klein in Condition Red in the same year. He was Julius in 1996 at The Funeral, in 1998 he had performed in six films which are Next Stop Wonderland, Going Nomad, Lulu on the Bridge, Side Streets, New Rose Hotel, Fast Horses as Frank, Spiro, Pierre, Albani Krug, Portuguese Business Man, Zack. In 1999, he was Man Shaving, Mr. Neipris and Vinny in the films On the Run Man Shaving, Coming Soon, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai.
In 2000, his films were Blue Moon as Tony, The Yards as Paul Lazarides, Fast Food Fast Women as Seymour, Love = (Me)^3 as Mr. Carrera, Coyote Ugly as Pete. In 2001, his films were Double Whammy as Lt. Spigot,'R Xmas as Louie, Angel Eyes as Carl Pogue, Queenie in Love as Horace, The Man Who Knew Belle Starr as Diner Owner, Don't Say a Word as Sydney Simon. He was Grant in Bridget and Sal in Anything But Love in 2002. 2003 was his last year in the film industry and his films was Dirt as El Gringo Nestor, Personal Sergeant as Chuck Manetta, Lustre as Hugo.
Television
In television he started his work with TV film Smile Jenny, You're Dead. He had performed as a guest in The Rockford Files, Wonder Woman, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Spenser: For Hire, Law & Order and Miami Vice.
