Career of Tony Beckley
After graduating from Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), he started working with various provincial repertory companies and get the work in television. He guest appeared in many popular TV series and in comedy programme Dig This Rhubarb. His first film appearance was in Orson Welles' Chimes at Midnight as Ned Poins. He had worked in many films with Peter Collinson as a director including The Penthouse, The Long Day's Dying, and his most memorable character was of Camp Freddie in The Italian Job. He starred in The Fiend as a psychotic Kenny Wemys and was also a psychopath in his last film appearance in When a Stranger Calls. Most of the time he played the role of villains including Doctor Who serial The Seeds of Doom. He also appeared in theatre such as in the West End in Tennessee Williams' Small Craft Warnings and in Snap.
