He was a great prognosticator, was born on 18th august, 1907, in Princeton, Indiana, USA. He was an owner of a coffin and he asserted that to sleep in it. He said that he feel snug with sleeping in caskets in the storeroom. He got married to halo meadows, a former speakeasy dancer.

In starting he had worked as a radio announcer and news broadcaster. After sometime he started a show called "Criswell Predicts" and with this, he became a minor off-beat celebrity in Los Angeles and around Hollywood. He had also made appearances on The Jack Paar Show from 1957 to 1962.

His articles were also published in three publications of Spaceway Magazine (February 1955, April 1955, and June 1955). His three books of predictions were published From Now to the Year 2000, Your Next Ten Years, and Forbidden Predictions. He released CD version of his predictions 'Your Incredible Future' which contains 84 minutes of his predictions in his own voice.

He appeared in Plan 9 from Outer Space which was released in 1959. In Night of the Ghouls in 1987. He acted as The Emperor in Orgy of the Dead in 1965 and in It Came from Hollywood in 1982. He appeared in the documentary Ed Wood: Look Back in Angora and The Haunted World of Edward D. Wood Jr.He gave his guest appearances on the television show The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and also appeared in Cinema Insomnia (Plan 9 from Outer Space & Hardware Wars).
