He started working in radio before The Second World War and at the time of War, he signed a contract with Warner Bros for minor screen roles. His first screen role was in 1942 as Stanley in The Man Who Came to Dinner. After that, he appeared in various supporting roles in films as well as in television. In 1953, he performed the role of a piano instructor Chester Finley in the film By the Light of the Silvery Moon.
Singer
His song Your Hit Parade, an NBC television series was a most popular song at the time of 1952 to 1957. There was another hit song "Cinco Robles (Five Oaks)" in 1957. His album Where Can A Wanderer Go was released and was also a singer on The Hidden Treasure Show in the same year.

He guest appeared as Attorney Everett Dorrell in the episode "The Case of the Credulous Quarry" and was Roger Correll in "The Case of the Greek Goddess" episode of Perry Mason.
