Richard Dean Anderson was an actor and producer. He wanted to become a professional hockey player before beginning his career as an actor. When he was 17 he broke his hand badly while playing hockey, after which he moved his way to the acting. In 1985, his series "Macgyver" was plausible in all over the world. He had several affairs but never get married to any of them. He loves to ride the bicycle once he rode 5641 miles alone and covered the distance Minnesota to Alaska in 33 days all alone.

He did a lot in his career, prior to his career as an actor he worked as a juggler and a street mime and in a Renaissance-style cabaret in New York City, and from his teenage he wanted to become a professional hockey player, he played hockey during his teenage but when he got fractured his hand while playing, then he stop playing hockey, and he moved his way to act.
He was first landed in a soap opera General Hospital which runs from 1976 to 1981 and his character was Dr. Jeff Webber. After that, he gets a lead role in CBS television series Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. He had an interesting character of Lieutenant Simon Adams who stole away the wife of naval lawyer Jack Warren in Dennis Weaver series Emerald Point N.A.S. on CBS.
He is known for his lead role in television series MacGyver, a show which runs for seven successful years. In this series, he had a role of Angus MacGyver, who was an optimistic action hero and uses Swiss Army knife in place of a firearm. He had a starring role in Stargate SG-1 as Jack O'Neill. In season eight, his character was promoted to base commander, this change helps late Don S. Davis to retires from acting as he was very ill and Anderson gets more time with the family as he wouldn't have to go for outdoor shooting. In the next season, he makes only guest appearances.
In 1995,he had a starring role with John de Lancie for 12 episodes of Legend. He was a guest star in the television show The Simpsons and also voiced in an episode "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bangalore"and his character was again MacGyver. Also, he had reprise his role as Angus MacGyver in a MasterCard commercial during Super Bowl XL. He had also worked for Saturday Night Live. He had a recurring role in Fairly Legal on USA Network as David Smith.
