He started his acting career with small roles in the films like Bulworth and A Night at the Roxbury. He rose to prominence for his role of Bear in the science fiction "Armageddon". He played the character of John Coffey in the crime drama film "The Green Mile" for which he received many awards. He appeared as Leo Knox in the television series "The Finder".
