Michael Allinson was a British-American film and stage actor and he was born on 30 December 1920 in London and died on 30 December 2010. His father Adrian Allinson is British painter and also one of the founding member of the London Group of painters. His grandfather was a doctor and nutritionist. Allinson Bread Company was founded by his grandfather. In the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art he was trained for acting and during world war II, he served as a caption.

Michael Allinson started his career in Broadway and during the 1960 season, he appeared in the show 'My Fair Lady' as a Professor Henry Higgins and he was opposite to the Pamela Charles who was playing the role of Eliza Doolittle. He also appeared in the show 'Shadow lands' on Broadway which was made by the original productions and he plays the role of Warnie. He has also appeared in different shows under Broadway are Angel Street, Hostile Witness, An Ideal Husband and Oliver!. On the Dudley Moore film named the 'same name', he has appeared as Hob-son where this is the short-lived musical Arthur. In the production of Kingfisher, he understudies the George Rose and Rex Harrison where in his later years he has done a one-man show about George Orwell. The last appearance he gave in movie Syriana in which he plays the role of Sir David.
