He makes a start with a lead role in SBS's Biscuit Teacher and Star Candy. He was enlisted in the military and was discharged in December 2009. He returned to acting by appearing in the romantic comedy Finding Mr. Destiny. He also worked in films like "The Suspect", "Train to Busan" and more.

Does Gong Yoo takes alcohol? Yes. His favorite drink is Somaek which is a combination of soju and beer.
Is Gong Yoo in the habit of Smoking? No. He hated smoking.
He was scared while filming for the movie "The Suspect". He had to do the stunt on his own and had to jump off the Han River bridge 12 times.
