He worked on theatre in his starting career. He appeared as Marc Antony in the television show "Julius Caesar." He made his film debut with a lead role in the film "Dark City." He appeared as Moses in the epic film " The Ten Commandments." He played the main role in the film "Ben-Hur." He also played a starring role in the film "The Omega Man."
