Ben Alexander whose real name is Nicholas Benton 'Ben' Alexander III was born on June 27, 1911, in Goldfield, Nevada and died on July 5, 1969. He made his first debut when he was just five years. For the role in movie Dragnet franchise, he was best remembered and the role he played in that movie was Officer Frank Smith.
Career of Ben Alexander
Ben Alexander started his career at the very early age of five in 'Every Pearl a Tear'. He retired from the screen work after doing so many silent movies and he came back in 1930 World War I classic, All Quiet on the Western Front in which he was noticed as an adult actor. During the 1930s he has played role in many of the low budget movies. From a stint on the Martin and Lewis program, as a radio announcer, he has started his new career. In the 1939-40 soap opera Brenthouse on the Blue Network, he plays a role of Philip West on radio. He has appeared in many movies some of them are Hearts of the World (1918), The Better Wife (1919), In the Name of the Law (1922), Boy of Mine (1923) - Bill Latimer, Many a Slip (1931), Tom Brown of Culver (1932), What Price Innocence? (1933), The Most Precious Thing in Life (1934), Annapolis Farewell (1935) and so on. He has also worked in many television series.
