He starred along with Richard Crenna, Helen Hunt and Patty Duke Astin in the television series "It Takes Two" in his starting career. He appeared as LTJG Nick "Goose" Bradshaw in the film "Top Gun." The viewers also appreciate his performance in the television series "ER" as Dr. Mark Greene. He appeared as Mars Harper in thriller television series "Designated Survivor."
