He was just fifteen years old when he joined Gandhiji's Non-Cooperation Movement. But after the cancellation of the movement, he became aggressive. He formed the Hindustan Republican Association (HRA) along with Ram Prasad Bismil. He had a big role in the Kakori Train Robbery of 1925. He trained "Bhagat Singh" and other members of the group in the shooting. He shot himself when he found himself surrounded by police.
