About Sri Radha Raman Temple
Sri Radha Raman Temple is also a popular temple located in Vrindavan. It is one of seven ancient temples in the city. The temple houses Krishna is the form of Shaligram and goddess Radha. Raman means lover, so Radha Raman means lover of Radha. The Prasad offered to the deity is prepared by male members of Goswami families, and the fire lit in early days of the temple is continuous until today. There is no entry fee for the temple. The morning visiting hours of the temple is from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm while in evening the temple remains open from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Summer Mangal Aarti timings is 4:00 am while Winter Mangal Aarti is 5:30 pm

Bus
A number of buses goes to Vrindavan and Mathura city. If you have booked a sightseeing bus to see popular places in Vrindavan so it will drop you near the temple. While if you are going on your own basis then take a rickshaw or taxi after reaching Vrindavan bus stand.

Mathura is well-connected with a number of train going to the city. After reaching Mathura station, you can hire an autorickshaw or taxi to reach the desired destination.

Some Lesser Known Facts About Sri Radha Raman Temple

  • According to the legend, Gopala Bhatta Gosvami once saw a dream in which God instructed him to make a trip to Nepal. He bathed in Kali-Gandaki river in Nepal. Several Shaligrama Shlas entered his pot when he dipped into the river. He dropped them back into the river but Shilas re-entered the pot when he refilled it. He came back with all the twelve Shaligrama to Vrindavan and started worshipping them.
    On a Purnima (full moon) day, in the evening, Gopala Bhatta put the Shilas in a wicker basket and covered them to rest after offering naivedhya and went to rest himself. He went to take bath in Yamuna river in early morning on returning he saw one of Shaligramas converted into a Deity of Lord Krishna playing flute. Now the temple has one deity in the form of Tri-Bhangananda-Krishna and eleven Shilas.
  • You can also find the Samadhi of Srila Gopal Bhatta Goswami inside the temple complex.
  • The Prasad of this temple is prepared by the male members of Goswami families in the temple kitchen. The fire in the Kitchen was lit in the early days when the temple was established and is continues even today. For the personal service period the Goswami families are allotted a calendar in advance so that there will be no any carelessness in the service.
