Located in the district of Savannah is the historic Forsyth Park. It is one of the popular historical sites in the region. It mostly serves as a spot for leisure time activities, you can find people relaxing, with a book, or walking their dogs or just strolling around the area. - Forsyth Park has a history spanning over 150 years. The infamous fountain was erected in the year 1858. Although its popularity and history, the fountain was actually ordered from a catalogue! It was inspired from the fountains in the Place de La Concorde in Paris.

- The park covers an area of about 30 acres and is named after Georgia's 33rd Governor John Forsyth. It is situated in the Savannah Historic District and is the largest park in the region.

- Today, the park is a major site of attraction for locals as well as tourists. It is a place with something for everyone. One can spend their time engaging in recreation sports, people watching, sun bathing, reading or relaxing. It also hosts the Savannah Jazz festival, concerts, rock n roll marathon, sidewalk arts festival and even a farmer's market on Saturdays.

- On St. Patrick's Day, the water in the fountain is dyed green. This tradition was started in the 1980s and still continues today. Hundreds of people participate in the ceremony and is hosted by the Savannah St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee.

- In 1879, the confederate memorial was installed in the middle of the park. The artist of the sculpture is Robert Reid. Later, a bronze soldier was added atop the monument, a work by David Richards. It is a memorial dedicated to the people who fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War.

- With all its busy days and weddings and tourists, locals claim that the park and the mansion on the land are both haunted. The ghost of a little girl named Lottie is often said to haunt the premises. Reports of footsteps and laughter have come to light. Visitors have claimed to seeing a little girl run and disappear in front of their eyes.
