Some Lesser Known Facts About The Great Pyramid of Giza
- It is one of the oldest and largest of the three pyramids and is also the oldest among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
- It was made by using more than two million stone blocks ranging from two to fifty tons. It is still not known how these heavy stone blocks were transported to the place at the time. It is estimated that more than 100k people worked for the construction of this historical monument.
- All the pyramids are deliberately made on the west bank of the River Nile perhaps according to the belief the sunsets every evening at the place which is a symbol of the reality of the death.
- To the visitors' surprise, the place receives scorching heat but inside the pyramids, the temperature remains a constant 20 C.
- There is a granite coffer that is made with one solid piece of granite which is as large as the whole passageway inside the main chamber of the Pyramid. The coffer made historians and archaeological believe that the Pyramid is made around it not it was brought after making the whole structure.
