About Patung Dirgantara
Patung Dirgantara is a monument situated in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was inaugurated by President Sukarno in the year 1964 to give tribute to the Indonesian Air Force and early Indonesian aviators who contributed to the freedom struggle and flew against Dutch colonial rule. The arched socle is 27-meter high and the statue has a height of 11 meters weighing 11 tons. Edhi Sunarso was the sculpture that made this statue.
How To Reach Patung Dirgantara
The monument is well connected with public transports. You can go there by Central Line or Loop Line trains in which you have to get off at Cawang situated at 23-minute walking distance from the site. If you prefer a bus journey then you have to grab a bus of route numbers 9, 9A, 13F, JAK18, and Bogor-Block M. Some of the nearby bus stations are Pancoran Tugu, 1b, Gpib Bukit Moria, Jasindo, and Santo Lukas just 2 or a 3-minute walk from the monument. You can also leave your bus at Gatot Subroto 1b and Menara Bidakara from there you have to walk for 4 or 5 minutes to reach the destination.
