About Clock Tower
Clock Tower is an important monument located in Dehradun and is known to every doonities. It was inaugurated by former Prime Minister
Lal Bahadur Shastri. The landmarks are known for being the first monument built just after India got its Independence. The tower is adjacent to the most popular Paltan Bazar of Dehradun and is surrounded by a number of business centers. No entry fee to access the Clock Tower and it can be all the 24 hours of the day.

Clock Tower is situated in a well-connected area and it is easy to access it using any means of transport.
Private Vehicle
You can access the tower using any of your private vehicle. It is just five kilometers from ISBT Dehradun. But as it is located in high traffic area so it can take a considerable time to reach the location.
Vikram or Local Bus
You can also reach there by the share-based auto or local bus. Most of the vikram and auto available at ISBT goes to clock tower.
Train
Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand and is well-connected with a number of trains going to the city. After reaching Dehradun, you can take a vikram, auot or a taxi to reach the clock tower.

- The old people of the city says that when the clock tower was built, the tick of the clock could be heard from the other end of the city, though the clock does not tick nowadays.
- You can see names of freedom fighter engraved on the gold plate on the top of the tower.
- At first, it was named as Balbir tower and was a sign of celebration of Indian freedom.
- It is about 85 meters tall and has six faces.
