About Queen Anne Hotel
Located on Sutter street, the Queen Anne hotel is a Victorian building built in the namesake Queen Anne architectural style. It was an etiquette/boarding school for girls during 1890. Today, it is a hotel open to the public. It can be a surprise walking into the Victorian-era decorated building in the city of San Fran. It is an elegant and quaint hotel with possibly the friendliest ghosts on the list.
Some Lesser Known Facts About Queen Anne Hotel
- Built-in the year 1890 by Senator James Fair, the boarding school was built as he wanted his two daughters to stay close and have an education. After its construction, he hired Mary Lake as an educator. It was rumored that later on, they would have an affair. Although Mary denied the allegations, people still speculate when investigating the site's history.

- A local newspaper once alluded to this affair under an article called "cupid and Mr. Fair". Since her death, the hotel has had many owners, from brothel owners to church caretakers and secret (mysterious) societies.

- A majority of the incidents have occurred in room 410, Mary lake's former office. But these interactions have all been friendly and affectionate. Guests have narrated stories of falling asleep in their beds and waking up on the floor, neatly tucked in.

- Other than Mary, there are other curious spirits that linger around. Strange reflections in the mirror and random cold spots in the hallway are also common. Although it is unclear what became of Mary when the school shut down, after the Senator?s daughters graduated, people do believe she came to stay and never left the site.

- The hotel was featured on an episode of the television series "haunted hotels", where its history and the city of San Fran were explored. The building today offers a 48 room accommodation for its guests.

- One of the neighbors of the hotel was a woman named Mary Ellen Pleasant. Pleasant dabbled in voodoo and other forms of black magic. It may also contribute to the energy in the hotel and explain its reputation.
