Here is a list of places that you should not miss getting the true value of your trip.
Dilli Haat
If you are an admirer of handicrafts or interested in buying some traditional products, Dilli Haat is the most suitable place for you. It is a permanent craft market located Kidwai Nagar, Delhi. The second Dilli Haat is also located in Pitampura close to Pitampura TV Tower. You can buy home decor, handcraft bags, clothes, and many more items at the place.
Jantar Mantar
Jantar Mantar is an observatory located in New Delhi. The site was built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in 1724. It has 13 architectural astronomy instruments and is an interesting place to be included in the list of must-visit places in Delhi.
Gurudwara Bangla Sahib
Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is an important Sikh gurudwara located at Connaught Place in New Delhi. You can visit gurudwara any time and get blessings. The Gurudwara is associated with the eighth Sikh Guru, Guru Har Krishan, and is popular for the medical facilities provided to the poor people by the trust. The Gurudwara gives various facilities including an air-conditioned langar hall, a place to stay at Yatri Niwas as well as a multi-level parking space. It is a good idea to visit the Gurudwara, as you can sit here peacefully and can rest if you get exhausted after traveling.
National Zoological Park
A trip to the Delhi Zoo and watching wildlife is also a wonderful idea as it not only increases our knowledge but also makes us feel fresh away from Delhi heat. The zoo is spread over an area of 176 acres, located near Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. The zoo was opened by the Government of India in 1959. Going there can be a fantastic educational trip at a nominal fee.
Mehrauli Archaeological Park
Mehrauli Archaeological Park is a 200-acre archaeological area located in Mehrauli, Delhi. The site is close to Qutb complex. And it’s better if you can cover this site while on a trip to
Qutb Minar. The site consisted of more than 100 historically important monuments. It has the ruins of Tomar Rajputs as well as the Lodhi dynasty, Tughlaq dynasty, and Mughal Empire.
Jama Masjid
Jama Masjid also known as Masjid-i-Jehan-Numa is also a significant place located near
Red Fort, and Sunehri Masjid. The site is also close to the popular commercial center Chandni Chowk. The mosque was established by Shah Jahan in the 17th century. It is the most fanatic Indo-Islamic architecture that was made at a construction cost of one million rupees at the time.
Raj Ghat
Your trip to Delhi is incomplete if you didn't pay a tribute to Father of Nation,
Mahatama Gandhi by visiting his memorial. Gandhi ji was cremated at Raj Ghat and the place is visited by many politicians and those who are impressed with his ideas. The site is located behind the Red Fort and at the east of Daryaganj as well as at the west bank of Yamuna River.
The capital city also has other interesting places like Paranthe wali gali, Khan Market, Sarojini Market, and Nizammudin Dargah but it is not possible to explore the whole city in one trip. You can put these places on the list of places to be visited on the next trip. And again, Delhi will welcome you with fully open arms alongside mouth-wetting street foods and open marketplaces.
